Alternative design approvals
Verity BC provides professional justification for alternative designs (Performance Solutions) where proposed building work does not satisfy the Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions of the National Construction Code.
Performance Solutions may be required where projects involve site constraints, alternative construction methods, material limitations, existing building conditions or design limitations that prevent conventional compliance.
We assess the proposed alternative against the relevant Performance Requirements of the National Construction Code and prepare professional documentation demonstrating how the proposed solution achieves compliance. Our assessments consider the relevant technical requirements, with particular focus on maintaining the safety, health and amenity of building occupants.
Our objective is to provide practical and well-supported alternative design solutions that address project constraints while achieving the applicable Performance Requirements of the National Construction Code.
